It is now the moment in book one when things wrap back around before the slingshot to the climax. The duo has had to return to the town of Esiw before being sent on the final journey. Before this, they are met by another Angel named Hajrael, who opens a portal and sends them to Esiw, directly into the chamber of Aras, the Elder of that town.
Besides the duo and Suleiman, this is the first time we come back to a character previously introduced, like Aras (Hajrael hasn't been introduced but the Angels are all very similar). I was not sure what to expect as far as keeping the character the same as before. Since the first book is so episodal in nature, so quest-oriented and travel through the wilderness-like, I was worrying about this wrap around. But Aras is a good character and he is just the same as he was seven or so chapters previous, which is a good thing. Same goes for the manner of the Angel. Excellent.
